Synopsis of Black-Friday Fill-a-black-tote Bag Sale

For Black Friday we placed a large basket of black Utrecht tote bags in the entranceway to the store. Above this basket was a sign which indicated that anything you could fit into a black bag would be discounted by 20%. In addition to the large sign and balloons in the aforementioned tote bag station, we placed smaller, duplicate signs around the perimeter of the store. Things started out slow, probably because people weren’t expecting such a peculiar sale. However owing to the diligence of our enthusiastic staff, customers were quickly informed of how the sale worked and responded favorably. Customers and staff alike were excited by the challenge of seeing how much merchandise they could fit into one bag. Throughout the course of the workday, our friendly and knowledgeable staff made it a point to tell the customers that Utrecht carries a wide assortment of stocking stuffers and great gift ideas at prices to fit every budget. All in all, the sale was not only successful, but fun for the customers as well as the staff. Â
