Special In Store Maimeri Visit

maimeri-image.bmp

Utrecht Art Supplies is pleased to announce an audience with Gianni Maimeri, grandson of the late Italian impressionist artist of the same name and current CEO of Maimeri Fine Arts SpA., on Wednesday February 18th at 3pm at our Chelsea Store and on Thursday February 19th at 2pm in Utrecht’s Fourth Avenue store.

Gianni will be holding a candid discussion on his grandfather’s works, the modern role of the Fondazione Maimeri (the Maimeri Foundation) as well as his family’s philosophies in regards to the making of pure artists’ colors. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested in art to not only hear about artists’ color from the perspective of one of the world’s most distinguished color makers but also to ask questions of Gianni in a small and intimate setting.

Each attendee will receive a beautiful, limited-distribution copy of the 2009 agenda book issued by the Maimeri Foundation, featuring several paintings of Gianni Maimeri and the stories behind the featured work. In addition, Gianni will be handing out a small number of very collectable “I Musicisti- Visti Da Gianni Maimeri” books, which detail his grandfather’s charcoal and pencil sketches of various musicians and conductors such as Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Stravinsky and Toscanini. Please email outreach.nyc@utrecht.com to reserve your spot at this special event. There is no cost to attend.
